High End Film & TV, and underground short films.
Besides working as a 1st AD, Nicolai is also a published Photographer & Filmmaker who is behind several international multi-award winning Fashion Films, and Music Videos with more than 15 million online views, more than 100 festival award nominations worldwide, and 38 international film awards. He has trained at European Film College, and has served as external lecturer on Fashion Film Production at Coventry University, London.
Nicolai has worked with Danish directors Lars von Trier, Thomas Vinterberg, Niels Arden Oplev & Bille August, and his work has involved Joaquin Phoenix, Connie Nielsen, Aiden Quinn, Kelly Preston, Asa Butterfield, Nicholas Hoult, Andy Serkis, and Claire Danes.

Research & breakdown — I read the script, tag production elements, and prepare the breakdown in movie magic scheduling.

Q: How many pages per day do you schedule? A: There’s no fixed rule — it depends on locations, stunt/VFX scenes, day/night shoots and budget. A good planning call lets me recommend a realistic pages-per-day average.
Q: Do you deliver a Movie Magic file? A: Yes — Standard & Premium packages include the editable Movie Magic Scheduling file + PDFs.
Q: How many revisions are included? A: One revision round is included. After that I charge hourly for further changes (£55/hr).
Q: Do you travel?/Will you work on set? A: I’m London-based and can work remotely. On-set/production support is available and charged per day at £550 depending on role and responsibilities.
